Recovering from Offenses in the Workplace

There may be times when you become offended by comments or actions that you feel are unwarranted or unfair. When those situations occur in the workplace, it is essential that you find a way to address the comment or situation in a straightforward, mutually respectful way, recover from the offense and take steps to discourage further offenses, and continue a working relationship with that person when necessary.

Remember, owning up to your errors and offenses in mutually respectful ways will help both you and the person on the receiving end recover with dignity. It speaks volumes about your character and emotional intelligence. Ask yourself: How will you do damage control after offending someone or being offended?
