Mentoring & Allyship

Did you know that while listening to and amplifying others, you can use your experience to mentor as well?  Mentorship is key to providing equity in the workplace.  Being a mentor allows you to be a good advocate.  It allows you to know the challenges and achievements of a person which means you should be able to help them with obstacles as they arise.

Remember, mentorship is based on trust and an established relationship so be sure you have done the work upfront prior to offering to be a mentor.  Ask yourself: Who can I mentor on my team or begin to build a relationship with that may lead to mentorship?
